One Billion Dollars in Rebates from Health Care Insurers

Health insurers in the U.S. are expected to have over $1 billion in rebates for employers and consumers this year. The rate of unemployment dropped in 49 of the 50 states during March, from one year earlier. The only exception was in New York. As the fate of the healthcare reform is in the hands of the U.S. Supreme Court, a study was released that says 25% of working age Americans did not have health care coverage at some point during 2011. Jobless Claims Higher Than Expected, Home Sales Drop

More people in the U.S. filed for jobless benefits than were expected and pre-owned home sales dropped unexpectedly, indicating there may be a moderation in the economic expansion of past three years. Labor Department data today showed that jobless claims dropped by 2,000 for the week that ended April 14, to 386,000. The estimate by economists called for the drop to 370,000.
