Oakland City council has now joined the growing number of people and organizations boycotting Arizona products and businesses. The City council voted 7-0 on Tuesday to move forward with the boycott.
Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed the law back in April 23rd. Soon after the law was signed, immigration groups and many liberals spoke out against the bill and called it racist and ridiculed Arizona for passing such a law. The law ultimately gives the police the power to arrest anyone who is suspected of being an illegal alien and if he/she is not able to provide documentation that they are in the Country legally.
Some have even gone on a hunger strike in UC Berkley (one of the most Liberal Universities in the U.S.). The truth of the matter is that other states should just stop acting childish and let the people of Arizona decide the fate of their State. If I live in California, I have no right to speak about the laws in Arizona.
People need to visit Arizona to see the problem with their own eyes to understand why such a bill would be passed in the first place. If the democrats are against this bill, why not the conservatives who believe in Borders, Language and Culture, start supporting Arizona made products and businesses?
I personally don’t consider myself to be a republican or a democrat but I fully support Arizona’s new bill and strongly believe that California should follow in their steps. Bottom line is that illegal aliens have no right to be in our country in the first place. They have broken a U.S. law and there should be consequences for breaking the law.

No human is illegal! This is the civil rights battle of our time and a just and comprehensive immigration reform must take place on federal level. As to Governor Brewer, she has ensured her place in histroy and her name will forever live in infamy, alongside KKK members and other prominent racists! God and history will judge her harshly!
Stop throwing stones at Arizona. They have taken a national problem that affects them too and took initiative to solve the problem, not looking for political correctness. I don’t think they are specifically targeting Mexicans, but instead illegals as a whole. I think because Arizona is a border state that racism and profiling comments become the first reaction. Let’s also look at the many US companies the secretly hire illegals to keep their costs down and profits high. One of the main reasons illegals come to this country in the first place. They are just as guilty and are also committing crimes against the US. I think this is a good law. If you want to come to the US and live/work, do it the right way. Free Enterprise does not mean ‘Freebie for All!’.
California lawmakers should be trying to find a solution to their problems instead of messing with Arizona’s business… They should follow Arizona’s new law and maybe they would get out of the situation they’re in.

You can say the same about Tea Party (they are haters not debaters or as others have dubbed them screamers not dreamers), they say they respect the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence but they do not mind passing laws, through weak Governors (no one voted for this crazy) who only care about getting reelected on the backs of undocumented workers, that will not pass Constitution muster, just like Arizona’s House Bill 2779 from two years ago and your MLK Day ban, keep passing them Arizona and the rest of us will continue to challenged them in a court of law and you will fail again (and yes we will Boycott Arizona). Their phony patriotism is sickening; they are just racists going by another name. We all know you are just itching to put a sheet on their head? Let’s face it the Republicans had eight years to deal with health care, immigration, climate change and financial oversight and governance and they failed. It appears that the Republican Party is only good at starting wars (two in eight years, with fat contracts to friends of Cheney/Bush) but not at winning wars as seen by the continuing line of body bags that keep coming home. The Republicans party will continue turned inward to their old fashion obstructionist party (and their Confederacy appreciation roots) because they continue to allow a small portions (but very loud portion) of their party of “birthers, baggers and blowhards” to rule their party. The Birthers and the Tea party crowd think they can scare, intimidate and force others to go along with them by comments like “This time we came unarmed”, let me tell you something not all ex-military join the fringe militia crazies who don’t pay taxes and run around with face paint in the parks playing commando, the majority are mature and understand that the world is more complicated and grey than the black and white that these simpleton make it out to be and that my friend is the point. The world is complicated and people like Hamilton, Lincoln, and Roosevelt believed that we should use government a little to increase social mobility, now it’s about dancing around the claim of government is the problem. The sainted Reagan passed the biggest tax increase in American history and as a result federal employment increased, but facts are lost when mired in mysticism and superstition. For a party that gave us Abraham Lincoln, it is tragic that the ranks are filled with too many empty suits and the crazy Birthers who have not learned that the way our courts work is that you get a competent lawyer, verifiable facts and present them to a judge, if the facts are real and not half baked internet lies, then, and only then, do you proceed to trial. The Birthers seem to be having a problem with their so called “facts”. I heard that Orly Taitz now wants to investigate the “Republican 2009 Summer of Love” list: Assemblyman, Michael D. Duvall (CA), Senator John Ensign (NV), Senator Paul Stanley (TN), Governor Mark Stanford (SC), Board of Ed Chair, and Kristin Maguire AKA Bridget Keeney (SC), she wants to re-establish a family values party, that’s like saying that the Catholic Church cares about the welling being of children in their care, too late for that. Childsih boycotts wont do much, the law SB1070 is approved at 70 percent by AMERICA, thousands of proud Americans prepare a summer vacation in AZ. Also when illegals are no longer draining the state billions will be saved, AZ will become a real nice and rich state. GO AZ!
As a whole, I think the United States should support what Arizona is doing. I know most Oregonians are in support of it. We are tired of people invading our state from California because they dont like the Mexican population there, but didnt take the time to fix the problem themselves by enforcing proposition 187.

I do agree that there is an immigration problem especially in Texas but the law IS a racist law, you can’t racially profile someone because they look illegal, that is against the constitution–where in that law is the protection of the citizens that ARE legal? the citizens that are legal will be racially profiled and discriminated by officers that take advantage of their power (and don’t tell me that doesn’t happen because it happens every day) it’s discriminatory and if they want to protect their own people they can DEFINITELY find a different way of doing it instead of using a law that makes a group of people feel targeted, it’s almost a hate-law.

Oklahoma had a similar law and once the immigrants fled the state Oklahoma had 1.3% drop in its economy. Months after the anti-immigration law in Oklahoma, Senator Harry Coates, the only senator to vote against the law, said, “You really have to work at it to destroy our state’s economy, but we found a way. We ran off the workforce.” so do you really think running off the workforce will save companies and billions of dollars? really cause i doubt it, they should enforce a law that will stop more immigrants from entering illegaly, but they should do something to protect the people who have already made it here and who are not criminals and who have contributed to the U.S. in many ways without benefits in return.
California is so hypocritical! Remember Prop 187? Other states did not react to California is such a hostile manner when this state passed “an anti illegal immigrant law. I think other states that sit quietly by while Arizona is being bullied should get involved. Organize and boycott California for being the biggest hypocrites!
