President Barack Obama built such a strong campaign organization that got him elected to the White House. As he is the head of the Democratic Party, it is expected that he will be able to get other Democrats elected to office. However, by looking at his record of his first year in office, it does not seem to be getting done.

According to 2 dozen interviews with party leaders, lawmakers, and national political operatives, many Democrats feel that the President has not made the most of his leadership role as the party leader. They question just how strong he is politically and blame his advisors for not paying enough attention to the upcoming 2010 midterm elections.

Many of these Democrats went on the record with their complaints while others preferred to remain anonymous so they would not anger Team Obama. Overall they described a political operation that was lacking in effectiveness. The President’s team is too focused on his 2012 bid for re-election. They also blamed the White House for the confused message about what the President is trying to accomplish in office.

President Obama has admitted to communication failure but he did not give any new solutions to this during the State of the Union address on Wednesday night. However, he should not be blamed for all the problems. There are too many other political issues that have been beyond his control.
