When Senator Edward Kennedy died, Massachusetts Democrats hurried to revise a rule that allowed Democratic Governor, Deval Patrick, to choose a temporary Democratic Senator. It was this same law making body that took away that right from Republican Governor, Mitt Romney, in the Presidential election of 2004 because they were afraid he would pick a Republican if John Kerry won the election. It is through moves such as this that the left shows just how arrogant they are. They feel that they have the right to do anything, change any rules to foster their agenda. It is this same arrogance that has them dismissing angry Americans as either stupid “tea baggers,” or racists. It is also with arrogance that they state openly that Americans will deal with the rules of this new left and adjust.
Massachusetts voters showed the Democrats on Tuesday just what they thought of all of this arrogance. They reversed the state legislators’ decision and elected Republican Scott Brown to fill that U.S. Senate seat that has only held a Democrat since 1926 with the only exception being 6 years. These voters expressed their unhappiness and dissatisfaction with a resounding voice. Their wisdom shone on Tuesday and it is hoped that some of this insight will make its way to other states in the same situation.
