South Korea has been gaining a lot of attention from the U.N Security Council and the U.S., after the fateful incident of the recent submarine accident. This time, the U.N. Security Council has put additional pressure on the North Korean authorities to let the investigating bodies have a closer angle at the whole picture.
This would obviously mean, long military maneuvers and underwater exercises, that would lead the concerned officials into knowing whether North Korea was involved in the tragedy or not. Mr. Ban Ki-moon – Secretary General in South Korea – said that there should be some sort of measures taken in order to prevent such thing from happening again. So far, we’ve evidence that points towards the involvement and culpability of North Korea, but we are still in the middle of our investigations.
Clearly, the South Koreans are saying that their submarine was hit by one of those North Korean torpedoes and for that very purpose, anti-nuclear military exercises are being carried out in collaboration with the U.S. military officials.
The exercise is supposed to be carried out in multiple phases that would lead the naval bodies into halting banned cargo at sea. The South Korean government is ready for severing all sorts of trade agreements with the North Koreans and also asked the Security Council to take proper measures for punishing the North Koreans.
