Adelson Gives Romney $10 Million
Sheldon Adelson is rumored to have given $10 million to a Super PAC that supports the presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney. The donation should not come as a big surprise and expect more from where that came from. He is expected to rain a large sum of money on the Romney campaign.
A popular newspaper cited an unnamed source in a report that said Adelson had given the $10 million to Restore Our Future, the Super PAC that is pro-Romney. Adelson would not comment on the story, but did say a great deal about the elections. The full amount of cash Adelson decides to give Romney will depend on the stance Romney takes. Adelson is very conservative, a self-made billionaire and a staunch supporter of the country of Israel. The two main things he is interested in is reversing what he calls the socialist policies the Obama administration enacted and maintaining the sovereignty of Israel.
Romney could hit the jackpot in fundraising if he were to continue to campaign for free markets, small government and by talking tough in support of Israel. Adelson’s net worth is considered to be nearly $20 billion and he has cash to spend. He said earlier in the year that he could donate anywhere from $10 million up to as high as $100 million to his favorite, Gingrich. Today, with the world economy sitting on shaky unstable ground and the conflict escalating daily in Syria, The $100 million that was earmarked for Gingrich might be just the beginning of what he decides to give Romney before November rolls around.
