Dash Shocked By Attacks for Supporting Romney
Stacey Dash the actress from Clueless, spoke on television about how she was saddened and shocked by the strong attacks against her on Twitter, following her giving support to Mitt Romney the GOP presidential nominee. In 2008, Dash voted for Barack Obama, but said she has changed her opinion and supported Romney because the state the country is in a present. She said she wants to see things change over the next four years.
Dash said she believes in Romney and has seen him and his wife on television. She also said she had spoken to each of them and they seem genuine and authentic. In her support of the former governor of Massachusetts, Dash echoed the words of Martin Luther King Jr. by saying she chose him not because of his skin color, but because of his character.
Dash’s support of Romney was first announced via Twitter postings and she quickly started to get very vicious replies that attacked her because of that support.
One Twitter post said Dash was a black, unemployed woman supporting Romney and a poor beautiful idiot. Another wrote that Dash has a perm since birth and therefore could not be trusted.
Others even sent stronger tweets encouraging the actress to kill herself. Dash said in an interview on television that she did not understand all the fury over her support of Romney. However, she did say she realizes that not everyone is going to support her or Romney.
Dash, who is 46, did get some support online. One tweet thanked Dash for thinking for herself. Another also said that if you are black you could not stop supporting the Democratic Party otherwise the name calling starts.
