There are lots of calls for Representative Anthony Weiner to step down from his position after a photo scandal erupted involving him. Former DNC chairman Tim Kaine was the first prominent Democrat to ask Weiner to quit. Weiner

Kaine said that lying publicly is unforgivable and this should be enough reason for Weiner to resign. Weiner admitted that he lied about his Twitter account being hacked in order to cover up his inappropriate online communications with at last six women over the past three years. The scandal erupted when he accidentally send out a crotch photo to his Twitter followers that was intended for a female college student.

Democrats all over the country are calling for his resignation. There are some that distance themselves from Weiner and kept their silence about the issue. Republicans are also calling for the seven term congressman to resign.

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi has called for an ethics probe in Weiner’s actions and was upset with the way Weiner handled the issue. Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid said he personally knows Congressman Weiner but he can’t defend what Weiner did.

The White House as well as the current DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz had no comment with regards to the controversy. Wiener is adamant that he would not resign.
