Freeman Donates $1 Million to Super PAC
Academy Award winning actor Morgan Freeman donated last month $1 million to a super PAC that supports President Barack Obama. The group is trying to boost its advertisements against the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Mitt Romney.
The super PAC, Priorities USA Action released a prepared statement from Freeman. The statement hailed President Obama on a number of issues including his ending of the U.S. military involvement in Iraq, enacting the new sweeping health care reform law and placing new regulations on Wall Street.
Freeman’s statement went on to say that, the President has done a number of remarkable things during a historically difficult time. Freeman said he was proud to give his voice and support to the people who are defending the president. The actor said even after Obama has done all he has done, his opponent has been given millions of dollars from right-wing supporters to try to defeat him.
The super PAC Priorities USA has aired a number of ads on TV that criticize Romney for his outsourcing while at Bain Capital. However, the super PAC’s television assault and spending is only a small fraction of the monies being spent by Restore Our Future, the super PAC that is pro-Romney.
The donation of $1 million by Freeman represents a large percentage of the total of $6.1 million the groups raised during the month of June. Restore Our Future, the super PAC supporting Romney was able to raise over $20 million during the same time frame.
Freeman joins Bill Maher, the Hollywood comedian, in the small group of $1 million donors to the largest super PAC supporting President Obama.

Today Ann Romney told the American people….
“WE’VE Given All YOU PEOPLE Need to Know’ .
‘You people’……
