Problems for Democrats Hidden in Obama State of Union Address

American politics is known for punishing arrogance. Hubris is defined as the pride that comes before the fall. It can be used to describe President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address. Since his re-election win, political reporters and analysts have argued that President Obama must or should crush Republicans. He must do this in order to transform American politics.

Most conservative observers also said that President Obama started his second term with a strategy to defeat and humiliate Republicans instead of a strategy to govern. Some even argued that the president’s approach to the debt ceiling battle should be called Operation Humiliation.

The strategy has worked for President Obama so far. His second inaugural address was a campaign stump speech that separates the bad Republicans and the good Democrats. His State of the Union address showed that the president will continue with his strategy against the Republicans. He claims that the new expansions of government will not add to the deficit.

President Obama and his supporters are convinced that the nation is finally on the right path to a new progressive era that they have promised before. Liberals said that the Obama administration is only seeing what they want to see.

President Obama’s State of the Union address indicated a spent force in trying to figure out how to get anything done. His main policy ambition was to keep the blame away from him for the sequester, which is his own doing.
