Williams Jr. Says Obama Hates the Military
Country singer Hank Williams Jr., known for his controversial opinions and comments, took a big political swing at current U.S. President Barack Obama during a performance in front of over 8,500 people Friday night at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
When Williams Jr. finish the song titled We Don’t Apologize for America, audience members started to chant “USA, USA…” Williams then spoke to the crowd saying, “We have a president who is Muslim, who hates the military, hates farming and hates the country and we hate him as well.”
Following his comments, the crowd began to applaud and cheer him on.
It is not the first time that Williams has expressed his opinion against President Obama. Last month, Williams, in an interview with Rolling Stone, said that President Obama “hates America… and forget about the U.S. flag.”
Williams’ most recent album titled Old School, New Rules, is full of political jabs against the president as well. In one song titled Take Back the Country, he sings that Obama needs to pack his bags, head back to Chicago and take the teleprompter with him so he knows where to go.
Williams once compared a golf match between John Boehner, the Republican Speaker of the House and President Obama to Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, meeting Hitler.
Because of that comment, Williams was fired from the Monday Night Football telecasts, where he had played his song to open the telecast for over 25 years. However, even that did not stop him from making negative statements towards Obama.
A staffer for the Obama campaign said that the absurd comments from Williams did not even deserve an answer.
