Press Release: Local Social Worker Completes Second Political Thriller Raven: Birds of Flight Sequel
After eluding government intelligence, a former counter-terrorist specialist wants to come in from the cold – until his government declares war on him in Raven: Birds of Flight, Book Two.
March 17, 2013 – Andover, MA – Alexander J. Burns, former covert intelligence agent, is in possession of highly sensitive government records he plans to use to negotiate amnesty. His former bosses have another plan: kill Burns and his band of “terrorists.” It’s the taut, thrilling tale told in Raven: Birds of Flight, Book Two, author J.M.Erickson’s new book in his Birds of Flight series.
Months after compromising his former agency, the Foreign Intelligence Agency, Burns and his team have gone off the grid and are hiding in America and Europe. Reluctantly – and fully aware that the contents of the stolen records could destabilize the U.S. government if made public – he accepts an offer by the FBI to negotiate the return of the classified data in return for amnesty. But Burns knows it won’t be that easy …
Raven: Birds of Flight, Book Two picks up where the critically acclaimed Albatross leaves off, following Burns’ harrowing trek across a dangerous political landscape, a journey that changes him and all whose lives he touches. The book is garnering praise in literary circles:
“Erickson has created a taut, suspenseful thriller sure to entice fans of Clancy, Flynn and Ludlum. Intertwining current events from across the globe brings a sense of realism to the plot.” – US Review of Books.
“The author does an amazing job of crafting believable, witty dialogue …. He subtly builds the suspense to a breaking point, creating a climactic scene that is both aesthetically rewarding and realistic.” – IP Professional Books.
“There are just as many explosions and gunfights here, but the overall mood of the work is tenser, and less triumphant, as Burns and his family risk not only their freedom, but their lives… An ambitious thriller that looks at the gray areas between vengeance and justice, law and morality.” – Kirkus Review.
