Current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had to be admitted to the hospital Sunday when her doctors discovered she had a blood clot while performing an exam to follow up on her condition in relation to the concussion Clinton suffered earlier in December, said her spokesperson.

No timetable was released regarding Clinton’s release from the hospital but doctors hinted that she could be at New York’s Presbyterian Hospital at least for another 48 hours. The doctors wanted to monitor Clinton’s condition and treat the blood clot with anti-coagulants, said the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Philippe Reines.

Reines said that Clinton’s doctors would make an assessment of her condition later on Monday, which would include other issues that deal with her recent concussion. Once the doctors have assessed her, they would make a determination if further medical treatment is needed, said Reines.

It was not released as to where the blood clot was located. Clinton, who is 65, had been suffering from a virus in her stomach earlier in December when she fainted because of dehydration, which caused her concussion.

Clinton spent time during the holidays working from her home while with her family. She had been scheduled to return to the State Department after the first of the year, after being out of work for more than three weeks.

Due to her illness, she was not able to testify before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on December 20 regarding the Benghazi, Libya U.S. Consulate attack. Bills Burns and Thomas Nides two deputies for the State Department appeared in place of Clinton.

Clinton is scheduled to step down from her post and President Obama has already nominated Senator John Kerry to replace Clinton Secretary of State.

As President Barack Obama prepares for his second and final term in office, Hillary Clinton the current Secretary of State has announced she will resign from her post. Clinton announced she had decided to step down earlier in the year, as she said she needs to take a break.

She said she would remain on as the Secretary of State until President Obama nominated someone to replace her and a transition could take place. Clinton said that after being in American politics for the past 20 years it was time to step off the high wire and see how tired she really is.

Now the task at hand is finding a successor to Clinton. One of the top candidates is John Kerry the Senator from Massachusetts. Kerry is the Committee of Foreign Relations’ Chairman in the Senate. He is also active abroad in U.S. foreign policy especially in both Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Kerry also has the force of celebrity that is needed to win U.S. goals abroad as he is a former candidate for the presidency. Kerry was chosen by Obama to help him practice for the second debate against former presidential challenger Mitt Romney. Kerry was also used in an ad that was anti-Romney during the recently concluded presidential campaign.

The only obstacle Kerry might face is his seat in the Senate. Any sitting president who chooses a senator for a post in his Cabinet considers whether the party in control can maintain the senator’s seat, especially in the current Senate where the Democrats majority is so small.

Other candidates for the position include Susan Rice the U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. and Tom Donilon, the current National Security Advisor

A biography just released on Barack Obama says that Bill Clinton was not impressed with the performance of President Obama so much that he referred to Obama as an amateur. Clinton is said to have told wife Hillary to resign from the Secretary of State job and mount a campaign during the primaries.

The bio is unauthorized and titled The Amateur. Clinton unleashed harsh word towards Obama and wanted his wife to challenge for the 2012 Democratic Nomination. Clinton allegedly told his wife this while at a summer gathering last year at their home in upstate New York, said Edward Klein the author of the biography. He said his book is based on interviews of people who were present at the event.

Klein was an editor with The New York Times Magazine and Newsweek. Clinton allegedly said at the event, “The economy is a wreck, it’s completely flat, America no longer has its Triple-A rating and you know more than Obama does.” Hillary is alleged to have said she wanted to remain on as the Secretary of State partly because she did not want to be remembered for leaving a post in the Cabinet in search of higher office.

Both Clinton and his wife have dismissed the book’s account as being false. The White House has said that Klein made the facts up in order to sell more books. The book even said that daughter Chelsea came to the house and agreed with her father.

A poll in April said Clinton had the support of over 94% of the Democrats, 60% of the Independents and 40% of the Republicans, while Obama had 85% Democrats, 33% Independents and 7% Republicans.

Next year’s presidential, Senate and House elections would be one of the most interesting ones in recent time. President Barack Obama must persuade the voters to re-elect him even though his economic policies failed.

People felt the economic crisis. The number of taxpayers with more than $1 million of income decreased from 40,000 in 2007 to just 235,000 in 2009. The number of unemployed people went up from an average of 1.3 million in the last three recessions to 4.3 million in 2010 alone.

The economy during Obama’s watch is the worst that the country has seen in the last four decades. Payroll employment is 5 percent lower than it was 41 month ago. In the past three years, federal spending compared to the gross domestic product is higher than at any point since World War II. It added $4 trillion to the national debt.

There were speculations that Obama might change his vice president candidate to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Several poll results showed that Mrs. Clinton is the most admired woman in politics. According to a poll, majority of people disapprove of Obama’s performance while they favor Mrs. Clinton. It would be a good move to add Mrs. Clinton to the ticket.

A day after President Barack Obama unveiled his $3.7 trillion budget the Republicans in the House of Representatives are pushing for a bill that would cut the spending of the federal government. There wouldn’t be any compromise between the two groups regarding the government’s budget.

The Republican Representatives patched up the bill after several weeks of intraparty discussions. If passed, the House legislation will cut around $61 billion from the budget. The proposed cut will be equal to 14 percent cut from last year.

The House will hold several sessions to debate on the proposed legislation. Conservatives, majority are members of the Tea Party, will try to push for more budget cuts while the liberals and moderates from both parties will voice their concern on the impact of the budget cuts.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is concerned about the scope of the proposed cuts by Congress. The range is huge and she fears that the cuts can affect the national security. Education will be hit hard by the cuts as well. Programs that would experience significant decrease in their funding include education programs, NASA space exploration, USDA meat inspections, and agriculture research.

Democrats are warning that the level of cuts could result into a government shutdown, such as the one experienced in 1995-96.Goverment operations will stop and the financial sector might have another crisis.

Jan Brewer, the governor from the state of Arizona expressed her outrage regarding the comment made by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Clinton commented that the current administration will file charges against the immigration laws that are now very controversial in this part of the country. The state’s governor said that she is ready no matter what lawsuit it would be.

When she was in Ecuador, Hillary Clinton had an interview at a TV station where she said that there will be a lawsuit against the state of Governor Jan Brewer because of the immigration law. They will be delivering the upcoming lawsuit even though the Justice Department is still reviewing the said issue.

Meanwhile, on her interview with Greta Van Susteren of Fox News, Jan Brewer said that she was disappointed with what Clinton commented and what the administration would try to do. She was appalled that the announcement was made on a foreign channel without even first talking to the officials of Arizona regarding the matter. But the governor is fierce and she made it clear that they are not back away from the said issue. No matter what, they would still push the immigration laws, face any lawsuit, and be aggressive with whatever that is thrown at them. She assured that they would win. The Arizona governor also added that a big number of Americans agree with their immigration laws.

You can now see clips of the interview on various blogs wherein Hillary Clinton talked about how the current administration is handling the issues and debates about the laws. Clinton said that the president already gave his words and said that he himself is against the law. Barack Obama thinks that it is the federal government’s job to determine all the policies regarding the immigration. Apparently, the Justice Department will soon bring a lawsuit against it as well.

The approval was a result of Iran’s acceptance of an enriched uranium stock pile, from a Brazilian and Turkish mediated deal.

Iran’s recent set of decisions towards the acquisition of that uranium stock pile, somehow, acted as a catalyst in the imposition of those sanctions. The U.N. Security Council got blunter in taking actions against Iran. On top of that, Bill Clinton said that the momentum of these U.N. sanctions has never slowed down and apparently, this new round of sanctions is going to be the 4th one.

Hilary Clinton also said that we are currently acknowledging all efforts from countries like; Turkey and Brazil to find a solution to Iran’s stand-off with the nuclear community, over an unclear nuclear program, that leads to a lot of unanswered questions. But on the other side, we have Russia, China, the U.K., France and Germany, who are all cooperating with the U.N. security council and through these measures, we intend on sending a clear message to Iran.

Among all those “major” countries, China was pretty reluctant in supporting the Security Council members on new sanctions against Iran. But the officials have said that China did participate throughout the negotiations process so for now, we have no qualms against China.
