First lady Michelle Obama will join other former first ladies in honoring Betty Ford at her funeral on Tuesday. She will be with Nancy Reagan, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Rosalynn Carter. Ford was one of the country’s most admired women.

Ford died last Friday at the ripe age of 93. The family asked for donations to the causes that were close to Ford instead of flowers. Her husband Gerald was the United States’ 38th president.

The funeral service last Tuesday was a by-invitation only event. It was held at the Saint Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Palm Desert, California. The public can view her body from 5 p.m. to midnight before her remains are transferred to Grand Rapids. There will be another public viewing on Wednesday at the Gerald R. Ford Museum from 7 p.m. Eastern Time. She will be buried on Thursday after private services.

Journalist Cokie Roberts announced that she was asked by the former first lady to deliver a eulogy about bipartisanship in politics. Roberts’ parents both served in Congress. Her dad Hale was House Democratic leader while Gerald Ford was the House GOP leader.

Donations will be given to programs that will educate the public about the first ladies at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum; a botanic garden in Bail, Colorado, where the Fords had a home and spent their vacations; a scholarship fund; and a diagnostic center for breast cancer in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Naming President Obama’s nuclear pose as “hostile”, North Korea decided to carry on enlarging its atomic arsenal as a result of an annual session centered on rescuing the economy.

Earlier this week, President Obama declared to resist using nuclear weapons against countries that follow non-proliferation standards – excluding North Korea and Iran from the new program.

In return, North Korea considered President Obama’s government to be no better than the Bush administration, posing a nuclear threat.

According to the official Korean Central News Agency, will keep on increasing and updating numerous type nuclear weapons as North Korea deems it is a necessary in the days ahead.

In spite of numerous attempts, made by Washington and other regional powers last year to turn North Korea back to disarmament negotiations, North Korea stayed silent. Though, in accordance with the ministry, President Obama’s new line has chilled the atmosphere that resisted the resumption of the talks.

According to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, the disarmament talks will definitely resume in spite of the fact that North Korea experience instability in relation to its economy. And, North Korea will be pushed back to the talks as there are other negotiators from such countries as China, South Korea, Japan and Russia.

North Korea considers a U.S. threat as a chief reason for its drive to carry on building nuclear weapons. The U.S. numbers 28,500 troops in South Korea with the purpose to guard against the North. These two Koreas stay in the condition of war as their three year conflict ended in cessation of arms, but not a peace treaty.
