The approval was a result of Iran’s acceptance of an enriched uranium stock pile, from a Brazilian and Turkish mediated deal.

Iran’s recent set of decisions towards the acquisition of that uranium stock pile, somehow, acted as a catalyst in the imposition of those sanctions. The U.N. Security Council got blunter in taking actions against Iran. On top of that, Bill Clinton said that the momentum of these U.N. sanctions has never slowed down and apparently, this new round of sanctions is going to be the 4th one.

Hilary Clinton also said that we are currently acknowledging all efforts from countries like; Turkey and Brazil to find a solution to Iran’s stand-off with the nuclear community, over an unclear nuclear program, that leads to a lot of unanswered questions. But on the other side, we have Russia, China, the U.K., France and Germany, who are all cooperating with the U.N. security council and through these measures, we intend on sending a clear message to Iran.

Among all those “major” countries, China was pretty reluctant in supporting the Security Council members on new sanctions against Iran. But the officials have said that China did participate throughout the negotiations process so for now, we have no qualms against China.

Reiss was extremely delighted to see her family after a long time and later on, she was whisked away to see the French President and his wife at the Elysee Palace. Furthermore, Reiss said that she was happy and feeling light as a feather to be back in her own country after such a long and tough time, which she spent in various Iranian jails.

She thanked all those who took part in her rescue, especially the French President and various other officials. The Iranian President said that France should consider a prisoner swap program, if anyone wanted to see Reiss in safe hands. Basically he was referring to the release of two high profile Iranian legal cases in Paris, but well, seems like $285,000 are enough for now.

However, the two prisoners, who were initially demanded by the Iranians, for the release of Clotilde Reiss, were;

-	An Iranian, serving life in a French prison for the 1991 murder of an Iranian Prime Minister
-	A native Iranian for serving time in French jails because he was accused of stealing some secret equipment from a sensitive department, so that it could be used in a weapons program for Iran.

Reiss was spending time in Iran peacefully as a university teacher but she was arrested when it was time for her to leave the country. Apparently, she was accused of aiding a Western plot to topple Iran’s clerical regime, with several other people.

2 of the arrested prisoners were hanged and rest of them, are awaiting a verdict in Iranian court, but Reiss was lucky enough to pull a couple of strings at the right time.

But for now, a draft proposal hasn’t been submitted to the Security Council. On the other hand, Brazil has been working with Iran towards ceasing those nuclear weapons program, in hopes of slowing down the presentation of that draft to the United Nations Security Council.

The Iranian government is facing a lot of pressure and it is evident that, by the end of June, the European, Chinese and U.S. partners are going to exert pressure on Iran, against the nuclear power it possesses. It seems as if the European side is itchier about disarming and stripping Iran off of any nuclear assets, because they said that a draft against Iran is supposed to be presented in a 15 member council.

Iran’s foreign minister – Manouchehr Mottaki is involved in negotiations with the U.N. Security Council and he tried to reiterate the possibility of a uranium swap that would probably cease the draft submission process against Iran.

By the time, the draft will be approved for a final copy, it is being hoped that the Iranians will engage themselves in something positive finally. Something that would “persuade” the Iranian government to call it quits on their nuclear assets and ongoing nuclear weapons programs.

The answer isn’t clear to anyone because it depends mostly on whom you ask and how you are able to define violation in accordance to your own perspectives.

Iran is okay with the U.S. and IAEA officials sniffing around for any suspicious activities. They opened their doors to the inspection committee and even after hours of thorough checking, no one found signs of any ongoing bomb program. The Iranian President Ahmadinejad is acting in favor of the NPT (for the time being), as he has expressed his opinions against the possession of nuclear weapons.

But the IAEA committee says that there might be some hidden nuclear projects in Iran that must have been deliberately hidden to conceal the real deal. We cannot deny the fact that Iran and IAEA have been on itchy terms since the year 2002, when Israeli intelligence came up with information, pointing towards the secret nuclear weapon plans of Iran.

The recent November censure said that Iran is not completely cooperating with the investigating authorities. Their nuclear plants and weapons program (if any), is in breach of the terms and conditions of the NPT. However, the report didn’t specifically include the word “violate” anywhere but still, the messages was conveyed clearly to every member of the NPT.

Noticeably, among all five of them, the U.S. and Russia are the main sources of nuclear warheads because of the vast majority of weapons they have.

On the other side of the picture, we have three countries – Pakistan, India and Israel, who didn’t sign up for the NPT and that is why no one from their side showed up to represent them. Plus, these countries are known for secretly developing nuclear weapons and most of the times, they get by with a small slap on the wrist.

Iran is a unique case because it lies at the core of the entire NPT conference and yet again, the Iranian President (Ahmadinejad) is going to take part further discussions on nuclear power, until May 28th – New York. At one point, Iran openly admits the possession of nuclear warheads but they also openly deny those “requests” that are made through negotiations, pertaining to calling it quits with their nuclear weapons program.

Israel and Pakistan are not members of the NPT, but they’re both strengthening their nuclear assets so that potential threats can be held back. Pakistan is threatened by the Sunni Militants and Israel is under pressure/threat by Syrians and some Muslim parties. This phenomenon is known as; being prepared for the unexpected, according to one’s own fears.

The last 2005 NPT conference ended without any final decisions and this time, some countries have high hopes that they’re all going to hit a proper solution or some sort of decision. Let us wait, till May 28th and see what unfolds in the coming days.

The agenda is as usual, is based on war against terror and the whole idea of the summit revolves around the age old recipe of;

“How to safeguard weapons of mass destruction and keep them out of the hands of terrorists?”

It is being hoped that some adequate steps will be taken, in order to recede the terrorist threats. As the summit initiated, the United Nations Security Council is planning on sanctions against Iran over its nuclear power. However, I believe the central focus of the whole summit is to remove possible threats against the US.

President Obama said that the terrorists won’t stop at anything until solid steps are taken against them. We intend to secure nuclear weapons because terrorist organizations like Al Qaeda will try to get hold of them on first hand basis. If there was ever a detonation in New York City, or London, then the results would be beyond devastation. The whole economy, infrastructure and security setup will be highly affected.

President Obama believes that South Africa is truly a moral leader because it gave up on its plans of being a nuclear power. Seems like the US is seeing a lot of loose and old nuclear war heads around the world and they need to “secure” America completely.

Earlier this week, President Obama declared to resist using nuclear weapons against countries that follow non-proliferation standards – excluding North Korea and Iran from the new program.

In return, North Korea considered President Obama’s government to be no better than the Bush administration, posing a nuclear threat.

According to the official Korean Central News Agency, will keep on increasing and updating numerous type nuclear weapons as North Korea deems it is a necessary in the days ahead.

In spite of numerous attempts, made by Washington and other regional powers last year to turn North Korea back to disarmament negotiations, North Korea stayed silent. Though, in accordance with the ministry, President Obama’s new line has chilled the atmosphere that resisted the resumption of the talks.

According to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, the disarmament talks will definitely resume in spite of the fact that North Korea experience instability in relation to its economy. And, North Korea will be pushed back to the talks as there are other negotiators from such countries as China, South Korea, Japan and Russia.

North Korea considers a U.S. threat as a chief reason for its drive to carry on building nuclear weapons. The U.S. numbers 28,500 troops in South Korea with the purpose to guard against the North. These two Koreas stay in the condition of war as their three year conflict ended in cessation of arms, but not a peace treaty.

In spite of the prospect of tough sanctions, Iran announced Friday that it is not going to change its nuclear path and will stay irreversible just days before President Obama hosts a nuclear summit.

With a choir and musicians performing a specially composed nuclear symphony, Iran recently disclosed the information on its new homemade nuclear technology together with an enhanced new centrifuge which appears to be five times faster than the present version. In spite the fact that Iran announces it’s just for peaceful purposes, we all understand that this newly made centrifuge takes Iran much closer to making a bomb.

Revealing such information on Iran’s nuclear program in this celebrating manner is certainly a public performance for Iranians, but it is also a deliberately impudent message to all other nations, which President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad delivered crystal clear with words aimed squarely.

According to Ahmadinejad, anybody who thinks they can prevent Iranian resolve from carrying on with their nuclear program is rather mistaken. The U.S. has mobilized unexampled support at the U.N. Security Council for imposing new sanctions against Iran. President Obama knows he can presently reckon on Russia’s support and help, and for the first time the world’s other superpower – China – seems as if it is on board as well.

Not wishing to paralyze the elite Revolutionary Guard’s military and nuclear ambitions, nobody wants to do any harm to Iran’s struggling opposition movement. Thus, the formula for sanctions will be difficult to get right.
