The pentagon is working hard on trying to free up some cash right now by cutting a lot of military command jobs. Defense Secretary Robert Gates is hoping that with this cut that people will soon start waking up and face the fact, we’re still under hard economic times. People need to spend their tax dollars wisely right now and not waste them.

Gates used some very strong language in order to get his point across. He fears that people might start using the defense budget in order to solve the problems that are going on right now, instead of saving. In 2009 the US Budget hit a record of around $1.41 trillion and it is suppose to grow this year. At least 9.5 percent of Americans might be faced with unemployment as this continues to grow.

He feels that there should be some kind of plan to make wise investment decisions and modest ones. People should not be spending their money and not saving any of it. They need to think about things before they use any of their money. A lot of people tend to think that they’ll always be alright, and quickly forget that anything can still happen which is why they need to be ready for it.
