Indian-Plane-to-Kill-152-Passengers An ill fated Air India flight was just making its last minute adjustments on the runway, midst landing procedure, when the plane got out of control and skidded off the runway — into a nearby pond, besides the Mangalore airport.

Out of 160 passengers, only 8 people survived on the spot, but later on, a seven year old boy, who was among the survivors, lost his life in the hospital. The pilot was an experienced person with a lot of credentials on his resume’ and it is believed that the skid was actually caused because of the wet weather and slippery surface of the runway.

Luckily, the plane swerved towards the thick vegetation and this little turn of events caused some of the survivors to jump out at the right moment. One of the survivors, Umer Farooq told the media that he heard a loud thud and saw the plane heading towards the thick vegetation on the side of the runway. As soon as the plane broke in two, he jumped out and saved his life.

There were other survivors too, who jumped through the gap when the plane crashed and caught fire. Apparently, the whole landing seemed like any other normal airplane landing, but somehow, out of sheer unexpectedness, the plane just jerked itself off the runway and slid towards one side.

A 48 year old survivor – Mayan Kutty consider himself lucky for being able to walk away without a scratch. He says that as soon as he jumped out of the crack, he immediately called his wife and kids and thanked God for blessing him with another chance.

This plane crash was one of the deadliest crashes in the history of Indian Airliners.
